I'm a 25 year old quadriplegic (high functioning quad) looking for a live in caregiver ideally female but could be male. Iv got no feeling or movement from my pecks down, have no tricep or individual finger function. I DO have bicep, wrist flexion, neck & shoulder function so I can still move my arms to do things like eat, get things out of the fridge/cupboards, use my phone/computer, wheel myself around everywhere & do all daily tasks for myself. My home is all wheelchair accessible. I would need you to do things like go with me (got a truck I can drive) to get groceries, or to an appointment (can book things to accommodate your schedule), give assistance in stuff like suppositories, getting dressed, transferring to/from bed, cook supper (I freeze meals that I can warmup myself & can make simple things & anything microwaveable if your gone) & other simple tasks around the house/yard. I would need on average 3 combined hours of work a day (somedays would end up being a bit more & some less but I track & keep the average of 3). You would have your own room & access to internet, pool table, fireplace, heated garage storage (no vehicles) & any other amenities in my home. You need to already live in/close to Saskatoon as we NEED to meet to get a sense of one another's character/personality which is unachievable through phone or Skype so NO OUT OF COUNTRY WORKERS. Past experience in this field is not necessary being I'm more looking for someone who I get along with, would be committed fairly long term, is ideally between the ages of 25-35 (not over 35 being it's easier to relate with a closer age) & has a valid drivers license. Im real laid back & easy to get along with and would have a roommate type relationship. I need for you to be there each night (unless booked off) in case of a fire being I cannot get out of bed myself & for this, you won't have to pay rent.
