We are looking for a Full-Time, Permanent Cook 1 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Regina
*Must be available to work between the hours of 2:00 p.m. to midnight over weekdays and weekends.*
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the 1st Cook is responsible for the preparation and presentation of high quality dishes that exceed the expectations of our customers. This is a great opportunity for you to learn and grow under Red Seal Chef's with opportunity to be trained for your own advancement in the field.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
-Prepare and serve all in accordance with menu specifications while observing portion control and avoiding waste
-Supervise when senior staff member in kitchen, in the absence of Sous Chef and Executive Chef
-Assist with training junior cooks
-Work with the Executive Chef to maintain standards of food prep, service and storage as required by Hotel Policy and Health & Safety Regulations
-Assist with/organize, as appropriate, function food preparation, presentation and clean-up of kitchen equipment in accordance with meeting room/function requirements and hotel standards
- Adhere to all matters of hygiene, and health & safety regulations
-Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform presentation and personal hygiene
Preferred Education & Qualifications:
*Minimum 3 years cooking experience
*Line experience
*Enrolment in apprenticeship training considered an asset
*Working knowledge of commercial kitchen
*Excellent communication and organizational skills
*Proven ability to manage multi-tasked assignments and work effectively as a team member with little supervision
*Food Safe and WHMIS Certifications
