Fer-Marc Equipment Ltd. is in search of a Heavy-Duty Mechanic who would be responsible for maintaining and repairing various equipment including, but not limited to Zamboni ice resurfacers, street sweepers, sewer cleaning & hydro-excavation trucks, refuse trucks, asphalt maintenance equipment etc.
Job Duties:
Repair and adjust mechanical components.
Diagnose and repair defects in all equipment.
Able to operate servicing and diagnostic equipment.
Able to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and hydraulic components.
Able to repair cooling and lubrication systems.
Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline, diesel, propane and natural gas-powered units.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
Driving service truck/van to various locations to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on site.
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents in a timely manner.
Demonstrate effort to improve operations, streamline processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service.
Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports, timecards and documentation.
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in techniques and technology in the field.
Other miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements:
Journeyman heavy equipment mechanic with 2-5 years experience or equivalent work experience.
Valid drivers license.
Attention to detail with strong values, ability to work in a high paced environment with a high physical demand.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong internal drive to learn and develop future skill sets.
Scheduling flexibility as field/roadwork is required.
Steel-toe safety boots are required.
Licence:
Journeyman (Preferred)
Class 5 Drivers License (Required)
Class 1A or A endorsement is an asset but not required
