PRIMARY FOCUS
The Office Manager will be responsible for a hands-on contribution to the continuous improvement of Tuberosums office systems, business and financial management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Setting up and maintaining financial records using acomputerized bookkeeping system QuickBooks
Liaise with accountant for year-end financial reporting and taxes
Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls, supplier invoices, government remittances as well as other expenditures
Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers compensation forms and other government documents
Evaluate and summarize income reports, accounts receivable, royalty income etc.
Maintain bank account records; reconcile bank accounts and balance chequebooks.
Prepare and regularly monitor budgets and implement financial strategic plan
Manage and refine filing systems, information management and delivery
Manage contracts, keep track of reporting and deadlines
Manage interactions between Tuberosum and its international subsidiaries and affiliates
Manage import and export of material; Material Transfer Agreements and track status of material in various regions
Manage Plant Breeders Rights and Variety Registration applications
Manage human resources, employee files, orientation and recruitment
Maintain and procure inventory of necessary office and lab supplies
Proficient computer skills with the ability to provide internal software, IT and Web maintenance/troubleshooting
Special Projects as directed by the General Manager
Maintain security records

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 years direct bookkeeping/accounting experience; competent understanding of financial systems - Proficiency with Quickbooks essential
Applicable post-secondary education (Business, Accounting)
Experience in an office setting with an understanding of agricultural research
Experience with paper and digital filing systems
