The Catering Supervisor is responsible for ensuring customer needs are met and are completed in the utmost professional and courteous manner by engaging staff to demonstrate a positive work ethic by creating a positive work environment in the catering unit. This position supervises employees ensuring the appropriate and efficient completion of various job functions, and that customer and staff needs are addressed while maintaining both their safety and a high level of customer service. As well as acting as a liaison between internal departments to coordinate last minute changes, this role locates missing items etc. within the organization to ensure the event runs smoothly. The Catering Supervisor also delegates room assignments to catering leads, servers and porters; assists the Banquet, Manager/Assistant Manager, Banquets and catering staff in ensuring the level of sanitation and cleanliness exceeds the Department of Health standards; orientating, training, monitoring, re-training and evaluation of new and existing employees at designated intervals. This position reports to the Manager, Banquets.
Education & Experience:
Grade 12 or a combination of related training and or experience.
Valid Serve-It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS) certification required.
Minimum three (3) - five (5) years experience in the Conference & Catering or Tourism and Hospitality industry.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, Service Best, certifications an asset.
