Description

YMCA Director Responsibilities:
Increase current member involvement and encourage membership growth at the YMCA by ensuring programs are safe, convenient, welcoming.
Recruit and on board Staff and Volunteers as needed to meet department needs.
Supervise and support a staff team to meet/exceed their job requirements and performance goals.
Manage Program schedules, ensuring programs run consistently and on time, serving the needs of participants
Manage the department budget to meet financial goals.
Be knowledgeable about all YMCA programs/departments.
Build relationships with members, volunteers, donors, staff, and participants.
Other tasks as assigned by Senior Management

Department Specific Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in the implementation of activities that help promote social/personal development, recreation and nutrition in children and youth.
Provide leadership in the implementation of Physical Literacy programming.
Develop and supervise school aged and preschool aged programs, including but not limited to registration-based programs and drop-in programs.
Administer Inclusive Summer Day Camp programs including Summer Schools Out Day Camps in conjunction with the Downtown Youth and Preschool Director  
Supervise Birthday party bookings
Manage After School Care Program for Youth with Special Needs
Promote programs via various methods to existing partners, potential participants and referral agencies

Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in early childhood development, social work or equivalent.
Experience managing staff or volunteers an asset
Good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including evenings and weekends
Original Criminal record check including vulnerable sector dated within 3 months of hire
Current: Standard First Aid, CPR
