Description

Applications are invited for a permanent School Bus Driver in the Lumsden area commencing September 3, 2019.  Full time bus routes are paid at a daily base rate of $48.40 plus a per km rate calculated at $.180/km.  There are two bus routes available in the Lumsden area, the first has approximate mileage of 74 kms/day (paid a minimum of 90kms/day) and takes approximately 2 hours per day.  The second route has approximate mileage of 66 kms/day (paid a minimum of 90kms/day) and takes approximately 2.5 hours per day.

The preferred applicant will possess school bus driving experience, demonstrate safe driving practices, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  However, training is available for non-licensed school bus drivers.  Drivers may take their young children on the bus with them.  For more information about the route or about becoming a bus driver, contact the Transportation Department at (306) 949-6566.  

Student Safety is of the utmost importance to us, and therefore the successful candidate will possess a clean Drivers Abstract, with no major infractions.  A current Drivers Abstract from SGI detailing all (personal and commercial) driving records for the last 5 years must be submitted with your application to be considered as an eligible candidate. You can provide a copy of the abstract by uploading onto your online application, emailing to transportation@pvsd.ca or faxing to 306-543-1771. It is an expectation that the successful candidate will obtain First Aid certificate. Prairie Valley will cover the cost of the training.
