Description

The North Central Community Association is looking for a part-time cook to plan, prepare and serve a weekly healthy meal for inner city seniors with the Care & Share program. If you like seniors, want to work part-time, and want to give back to the community then this job is for you.

Duties include:
-Planning meals/menu while being flexible and on -budget with Coordinator
-Purchase and pick up supplies for meals
-Prep, cook, serve meals for 30-40 once a week
-Work with/supervise occasional volunteer kitchen/ serving helpers
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in a   shared kitchen facility
-Washing all dishes used
-Maintaining a comprehensive inventory (dry pantry, cooler and freezer) of ingredients/food and supplies
-Maintain relationships with seniors

Hours
Tuesday 8:30 AM to 3 PM, Monday prep if needed, plus shopping. Approx. 8 hours per week.

September to June (program off in July & August)

Job qualifications
-Class 5 Drivers License  
-Reliable vehicle
-Cooking experience for 20 to 40 people
-Must be able to work alone and with others
-Food Safe Certificate (cost of training is available)
-Be able to lift 20 kg (50 lbs)
-First Aid would be considered an asset

This position reports to Care & Share Program Coordinator.
