Description

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Fleet Services, is seeking a Trades Helper/Mechanic for the Yorkton Repair Depot.  

Under the general direction of the Shop Supervisor, you will provide customer repair services to Fleet Services clients. As a Trades Helper, you will work on all types of trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment and be responsible for mechanical repairs; preventative maintenance; and assistance with Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) safety inspections. Services will be performed in the shop and in the field. Travel will be required with the possibility of overnight stays.  

To qualify for this position, you will possess:
- a valid Journeyperson Certificate recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan; or
- a valid apprenticeship certificate with Saskatchewan apprenticeship commission; and
- a valid Class 5 operator's license, with the ability to upgrade to Class 3A.
