Job Description: The Community Program Builder works collaboratively with diverse and marginalized community members and organizations to facilitate eventual transition from program supports to self empowerment, independence and community connections.
Required Qualifications

Grade 12
Experience
Previous: Twelve (12) months previous related life skills/experience (e.g., culture/recreation, service clubs, inner city/community or school programs) or experience working with family services or social services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of poverty issues
Interpersonal skills
Valid drivers license, where required by the job
Organizational skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to work in a group setting
Communication skills

This is a non-clinical role. A Peer Supporter (PS) is a trained individual who has shared lived experience with People Engaging in Services at Mental Health & Addictions and who provides one-to-one and/or group based support to People Engaging in Services (PES) in Weyburn, Estevan and area (former SCHR), empowering the PES to make choices related to their life based on self-determination. The priority is to serve clients with severe and persistent mental illness who have complex needs.
Peer support training will be provided to the selected candidate if they dont already have training from a recognized organization


Expected Start Date: August 26, 2019
Expected Up To Date: July 31, 2020
FTE: 0.70
