Description

Looking for some REAL journalism experience? If youre someone who wants to hone their skills with the help of qualified veteran journalists, the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group has an opportunity you wont want to miss.
Our newsroom is looking to fill a reporter position with someone who has a passion for storytelling. Well help you refine your writing, photography, videography and broadcasting skills. Well even let you make mistakes and teach you how to fix them.
We understand the lure of the big city lights can be enticing  but you wont find the experience you need to excel as a journalist by answering the phone, researching a story for someone else or making a coffee run for the newsroom. You will get that experience by covering local city council meetings, court cases, budgets, elections, sporting events and more by contributing radio and web material for a station that is part of the most read online news source in Saskatchewan. We have bureaus in Prince Albert, Melfort, North Battleford, Meadow Lake and La Ronge, SK. The journalists who have come through our doors have gone on to successful careers in larger markets because they were willing to do the work and receive the one-on-one guidance they wouldnt get anywhere else.
Gain an edge over your competitors. Apply now.
You may be the Reporter were looking for if:
you understand the importance of local in local radio and bring ideas to work every day
you have a degree, diploma or equivalent from a recognized broadcast program
Sound knowledge of Canadian Press style
you can present compelling content with personality
youre passionate about news and adept at all platforms, including engagement on the web and social media
you have a strong broadcast voice
willing to perform other duties as needed
