Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic dedicated individual to fill the position of Cook for the Keeseekoose Family Wellness Centre. This is a term position that could lead to full-time.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cook reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for planning and providing well balanced and quality meals that focuses on land-based education and healing. He/she must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. The Cook must have experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. First Nations and aboriginal people have a very strong connection to the land, and very strong desire to protect the land, but also to move forward in a modern form [with] how we practise our traditions, which includes our food, as food is a very integral part of our feasts and cultural activities. This position will be located on the Keeseekoose First Nation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 High School Diploma
Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate with knowledge and experience in First
Nation Food Preparation and cooking.
