Autism Services, is looking for a professional who is passionate about working directly with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) as a member of a team in a non-profit environment.
The Autism Consultant works directly with individuals, ages 0-19 presenting with ASD, and their families. This is a multifaceted position that includes treatment plans, coordination, family consultation, intervention program development, transition programming and staff supervision responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
-a Masters Degree in clinical human service fields such as Psychology, Social Work, Speech Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy, with a well-developed behavioral background, as well as experience with feeding and toileting support, sensory systems, self-regulation, behavioural,motor planning etc.
-clinical experience in the development, delivery and coordination of specific program plans for children and youth with ASD is required.
-experience in providing family mental health support and behavioral consultation is desired.
-experience in the development and delivery of ABA or IBI programs will be an asset.
-a background in ASD assessment, intake, coordination of community services, and resource development beneficial
-experience in the supervision and support of direct support workers is an asset.
-experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and possess strong collaborative, leadership, facilitative, advocacy and interpersonal skills.
-excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with other team members internally and externally.
-good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
