The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Provincial Signs is seeking an Assistant Sign Truck Operator for the Sign Replacement Crew headquartered in North Battleford.
Under the supervision of the Sign Truck Operator, you will operate and maintain motor equipment used for sign installation on the Provincial Highway System. You will assist in the assembly, installation and maintenance of single and double post signs, as well as in the assembly, installation and maintenance of I-Beam and overhead structures. You will also perform various highway sign maintenance functions including sign face replacements and perform other duties as assigned by the Sign Crew Supervisor.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of, and experience with the operation of heavy duty motor equipment; routine equipment maintenance; appropriate and safe use of hand and power tools to assemble and install signs; and computer spread sheets, databases, and word processing programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.). They should also be a team player who is conscientious and reliable.
This position involves extensive travel throughout the province requiring the individual to be away from home up to five days a week, working in extreme and changing climate conditions.
Applicants must have a valid Class 3A driver's licence. Digger/Derrick certification would be an asset.
