Louis Dreyfus Company in Yorkton, SK is looking for a fulltime Shift Leader at our Yorkton SK Canola Crushing Facility.
The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma as well as general knowledge of oilseed processing operations.
This Shift Leader position is responsible for supervising a shift of production staff employees who work in the canola crushing and refinery plant.
Primary duties:
Monitoring of Plant Production Operations
Accountable for the production, safety and quality of the shift team
Helps plan the daily activities of production staff, issues work assignments accordingly
Maintains proper coverage by managing production staffing schedules
Coordinates production startups, shutdowns and changeovers
Completes regular checks of staff and equipment throughout their shift to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed and Company quality standards are met
Responds to production issues or alarms and leads investigations as necessary
Assures that production employees work safely and follow established safety procedures
Assures that established environmental procedures are followed and recordkeeping requirements are met.
Collects shift productivity information and records it in the plants data management system
Serves as the liaison between the Plant Superintendents and the production staff
Reports any manufacturing equipment issues to maintenance staff
Investigates and prepares reports for safety and environmental accidents and near-misses.
