Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Associate is a new role and a unique opportunity to gain experience and exposure in sales and marketing, project management, advocacy and communications. This role will work creatively in collaboration with the Association team to support successful and efficient delivery of initiatives delivered to Association members and the public.
The requirements
Successful completion of degree or certification in business. A combination of education and skills may be considered
Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
Experience or education in sales and marketing
Experience or interest in a professional association, not for profit or local community environment
Client-centered approach to service and sales, including development of partnerships
Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to continual improvement and innovation as a team, building on team capacity
The areas of responsibility
Assisting with the management of major projects as required, including HomeStyles home show, Parade of Homes, Golf Tournament and other smaller events
Assisting in developing project plans and in defining roles and responsibilities and the scope of work for each project
Drafting narratives tying project components together; packaging and assisting in presenting the proposal to potential sponsors
Create and foster positive relationships and partnerships with industry stakeholders, member, non-member businesses and customers.
Collaboration with Manager of Communications & Marketing to deliver creative marketing strategies, strategies and evaluations to encourage new engagement, revenue growth and diversification
Support of marketing initiatives, event logistics and general Association administration
