Description

We manufacture technically-advanced, self-propelled pothole patchers for markets around the world. We are seeking a Materials Purchaser to oversee the acquisition of materials needed for production and parts supply, and maintain an optimum level of inventory through planning and forecasting.  

Duties
Organize, sort, control and evaluate purchasing activities
Become familiar with common parts to ensure order accuracy
Seek and maintain good relationships with vendors. Negotiate to get the best value, price and lead times
Prepare and administer bids, requests for quotes, requests for proposal, requests for information, and other documentation
Perform inspection of delivered parts and match to packing list
Authorize payment of vendor invoices
Place purchase orders ensuring flow of inventory that guarantees optimum stock levels and meets turnover goals
Analyze inventory needs by working with production and R&D departments
Manage inventory control, ensuring proper storage of parts and maintaining efficient systems for controlling inventory flow
Make alternate arrangements during inventory shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact
Establish delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact suppliers to resolve issues
Research markets to source optimal suppliers
Maintain a positive work environment

Requirements
A two-year diploma program in a related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Five years of experience in purchasing
Superior negotiation skills
Strong knowledge of accounting software, purchasing and CRM software and Microsoft Office
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Strong customer service orientation
Self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team
Supply Chain Management Certification (can be attained after hiring)
