Job Purpose
Provide a safe and stimulating environment to the child in your care.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist and guide children during daily activities; eating, using the washroom, getting dressed and ensuring to provide active supervision at all times
- Plan and implement age appropriate activities
- Develop and implement daily classroom schedules
- Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
- Lead children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments
- Prepare art materials and assist children in using them
- Provide opportunity for creativity through the mediums of art, dramatic play, musical and physical fitness
- Assess the developmental level of children through observation and documentation
- Attend meetings, workshops and professional development training to enhance on abilities
- Take responsibility for cleanliness of childs environment
- Ensure medication reports, incident reports and injury reports are documented and administered accordingly
- Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Discuss progress and problems with children with centre director
- Assist supervisor in keeping records when requested
- Follow and respect the guidelines and procedures regarding confidentiality of children, families and co-workers
- Provide daily report to parents about childrens day
