Light of the Prairies Society Inc. is a community-based organization that provides Residential and Day Programming in the City of Saskatoon. As a Direct Care Staff in our agency you will not only be part of a team but part of a family. We provide care, recreation and community opportunities to adults with cognitive needs.

Current Opportunity:
We currently have a casual position available to start immediately. This position is for one of our residential homes that requires a high need for medical administration.

As a casual Direct Care Staff for this residential group home, you will be expected to provide sick and holiday coverage that can either be on a day shift, evening, night or weekend shifts.

Job Expectations:
Must be comfortable with taking glucose readings and administering insulin injections.
Assist with daily routines while providing quality personal care and assistance as needed.
Encourage client independence and support clients to participate in activities of their choice.
Take part in planning and implementing programming individualized for each client.
Ensure a safe environment, including fire safety, medication management and public health standards.
Demonstrate dignity, respect and professionalism when interacting with team members, clients, and support networks.
Demonstrate time management, organizational and communication skills.
Potential employees would possess creative thinking, the ability to plan activities and attend community outings with clients.

A successful applicant will need:
Grade 12 or a GED
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's license (no probation)
Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
CPR & 1st Aid within 3 months of employment
