Description

The Ministry of Government Relations needs a Senior Policy Analyst to provide research and analyses to support northern communities, and particularly Indigenous residents. Located in La Ronge, SK, the position advances social development initiatives to build resilient northern communities, and collaborates with multiple partners and levels of government, including First Nations and Mtis.

In particular, the position supports the Embracing Life Initiative to address youth suicide and community wellness, and other initiatives to build youth leadership skills.

You will analyze socio-economic issues, and provide policy options; engage and motivate diverse political interests to collaborate; support projects to reduce suicide and substance abuse, and build youth confidence;
create respectful relationships.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience with First Nations, Mtis and northern communities, including their cultures, political structures, challenges and opportunities; principles of strategic planning and project management; ideally, development and evaluation of public policy; and provincial government structures and processes, and the legislation, policies and programs relevant to First Nations and Mtis people in the North.
