Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Junior Accounting Officer is responsible for the preparation of journal entries and financial schedules. This position is also responsible for reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and performing various duties in the accounting unit (including, but not limited to, accounts payable and bank reconciliations).
This position works with others in the Accounting Unit in the preparation and entry of adjusting and recurring journal entries, compilation of data and preparation of schedules for the Crown Investment Corporation (CIC) briefing book as well as compiling other financial data as requested by others. Other responsibilities include preparation of bank deposits and completion of jackpot transfers, and reconciling balance sheet general ledger accounts on a monthly basis. You are required to have attention to detail in order to review invoices to ensure appropriate authorization and supporting documentation, entry of invoices into the accounting system, while verifying for accuracy. Your customer service skills are required in order to answer inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will be a multitasker and a keen learner in order to perform various other duties as assigned within the accounting unit.
Conditions of Employment:
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority - Gaming Employee Certificate of Registration.
