Description

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of the Foster Family Advocate. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will build positive relationships with Foster Families to enhance their role as caregivers.

Responsibilities:
-To develop positive relationships with Foster Parents as their primary point of contact for support from the SFFA in their role as caregivers
-Engage Foster Parents in managing website content
-Support Foster Parents in resolving conflict, dealing with placement concerns, reimbursement issues, case-planning struggles and other problems that arise as caregivers
-Support Foster Parents through the investigation and appeal process
-Attend support meetings with Foster Parents as requested; may require overnight travel
-Assist the newsletter editor with generating articles and informative pieces for The Advisor Newsletter
-Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports to ensure contract compliance for the Ministry of Social Services
Attend regional meetings to increase engagement with Foster Parents and the SFFA

Qualifications:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present educational information in a group setting
- Strong work ethic and organization skills
- Self Motivated with a positive attitude, with the ability and desire to be part of a positive working team
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Experience working in all Microsoft Software programs is required

This is a full-time Monday to Friday position that requires occasional evening and/or weekend work. Benefits include enrollment in our Group Benefit and Pension Plan.
