Virtus Group has a Regina based client in the construction industry that is looking for a Controller.
Responsibilities
Planning
Build and manage budgeting, cashflow and forecasting.
Operations
Monitor, review and recommend improvements to accounting processes, procedures and software.
Ensure projects are on budget and deal with financial queries.
Manage office and internal accounting staff.
Facilitate financing arrangements for various projects.
Financial Records and Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely accounting of transactions in adherence to accounting standards.
Review of bank recs, intercompany accounts, payroll, A/R and A/P subledgers.
Oversee the generation and distribution of monthly and quarterly financial packages.
Preparation of year-end packages for and communications with external Accountant.
Company Representation
Represent the company with financial institutions, Canada Revenue Agency and investment partners.
Qualifications
Advanced education/experience in accounting; CPA designation is an asset.
Real estate and construction industry experience ideal.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Multitasker with experience in multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
Effective communication skills and ability to build relationships.
