Description

The Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly-motivated individual to support its audit teams in developing and executing data analysis for financial and performance audits. We are the external, independent auditors of the Government of Saskatchewan.

The Position

The Data Analyst develops, documents, and executes computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) to extract and process data to give audit teams reliable and timely data, analysis, and reports. The Data Analyst advises the Office on data acquisition methods, data analytic approaches, and data presentation.

Qualifications:
A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or equivalent from a recognized educational institution
Minimum two years of experience in data mining, data analytics, predictive analytics, and data programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of the principles of database management and database environments such as Oracle, PeopleSoft
Demonstrated organizational, project and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task within require timelines and expectations and with confidential information
Effective written/ verbal communications skills, ability to work with confidence independently, as well as in a team environment
Skilled in establishing and maintaining rapport with staff and clients
Strong analytical/problem solving skills with a collaborative attitude
Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing
Familiarity with ACL data analytic software is an asset
Knowledge of government and the public service, preferably in Saskatchewan, is an asset
