The Dental Sterilization Technician will be responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of all instruments, reassembly and wrapping of instrument sets, proper use of sterilizers, sonic cleaners and other related equipment and maintaining a clean, safe workplace. The technician will work as a team member within the entire department. The technician will perform other duties as needed.
Responsible for:
- break down and set up of dental/surgical operatories
- disinfection of counters and equipment in operatories
- sterilizing of all instruments
- cleaning/maintaining of small equipment
- other duties as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the decontamination, processing and sterilization of all dental instruments, and equipment to be used for the care of the patients according to policy and procedure and care standards.
Ability to take direction from others and follow through in a concise manner, which also promotes efficiency.
Ability to communicate using written, verbal, non-verbal skills when interacting with team members.
Ability to set priorities and anticipate needs of others.
Maintains knowledge of equipment
Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to take initiative in a collaborative environment
Desire to learn and grow professionally
HOURS: Monday Friday - 8:00 to 4:00 on average
