Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions Services, the Community Coordinator provides a vital link between the North West partners, the Ministry of Health and the Mental health Commission of Canada (MHCC) project team, assisting in facilitating the development and implementation of the Suicide Prevention Research Demonstration Project in the North West region of Saskatchewan as well as the sustainability of the suicide prevention services demonstrated to be effective during the project. The role of the Community Coordinator is dynamic, and changes as necessary to provide local leadership, link to national aspects and align with the current phase(s) in the five-year project. The primary phases of the project, which are not necessarily sequential and may overlap significantly, are:
Phase One - Planning and Preparation
Phase Two - Implementation
Phase Three - Reporting and Knowledge Exchange
Phase Four - Scaling Up
The Community Coordinator assists with local budget planning and expenditure monitoring throughout the project. The incumbent has daily contact with members of the Mental health team, with employees, managers, stakeholders and members of the public.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
Credible leader with a minimum of 2 years experience in complex planning and project evelopment that includes multiple stakeholders, including community agencies, service providers, consumers and academics.
Project management experience/training an asset.
Past experience in research an asset.
