YWCA Regina Community Programs is looking for female-identifying and/or non-binary individuals to deliver our OurSpace Friday Nights programming. OurSpace Friday is a drop-in program that runs on Friday evenings and reaches out to girls and 2SLGBTQ+ youth ages 12-16. Each session centers on a new theme that helps encourage friendship and promote positive self-esteem through group discussion, recreation-based activities, and creative expression.
Facilitators will assist in the creation and delivery of programming which will focus on topics such as identity, puberty, healthy relationships, violence prevention, advocacy, etc.
Facilitators will organize and lead games, activities, and physical activities for youth participants
Facilitators will build a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for youth to learn, connect, and hangout on Friday evenings.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to act as positive role model who can provide developmental and emotional guidance to children and youth
High standard of professionalism and regard for confidentiality
Indigenous cultural awareness and an ability to work in a multicultural setting
Experience working with children and youth
