YWCA Regina Community Programs is looking for male-identifying individuals to deliver OurSpace programming in Regina Public and Regina Catholic elementary schools. OurSpace is an 8-week in-school program for male-identifying students in grades 6-8 that focuses on healthy masculinity and empowering boys in the movement towards violence prevention.
Facilitators will lead weekly sessions which include group discussion, interactive exercises, and activities that focus on healthy relationships, challenging stereotypes about gender and masculinity, emotional/mental health, and other themes
Facilitators encourage mentor-participant relationship building, and promotion of healthy masculinity
Facilitators will build a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for boys to learn, connect, and build trusting relationships
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to act as positive role model who can provide developmental and emotional guidance to children
High standard of professionalism and regard for confidentiality
Experience working with children and youth
Indigenous cultural awareness and an ability to work in a multicultural setting
Class 5 drivers license, and access to a vehicle is an asset
