Ceylon Gap Feeders is owned & operated by five top feedlot owners in Alberta. Ceylon Gap Feeders is proud to be a progressive, customer-centered feedlot & farming business. They focus heavily on consistency, food safety and environmental and economic sustainability.
The primary role of the Feedlot GM is to oversee and direct the daily activities on the feedlot to ensure cattle are healthy and make efficient gains for market. The Feedlot GM is responsible for training, directing, monitoring and evaluating all employees that report directly to him/her including the Pen checkers, Feed and Mill Crew. The Feedlot GM ensures procedures are followed to maintain health and welfare of cattle at all times and provide safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring the proper training and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all Ceylon Gap Feeders employees, contractors and guests on the property
Recruitment, training, supervising and performance management of all Ceylon Gap Feeders employees
Ensure all Saskatchewan Labor Standards are met and followed, including the completion of WCB documents and managing return to work programs
Monitor and evaluate all cattle health protocols are followed for processing, re handling, ear audits and implants for optimal cattle health
Direct, monitor and evaluate productivity of staff that directly report to him/her.
Identify risks and develop, implement, monitor and evaluate strategies to mitigate or reduce risk and potential impact
Monitor and evaluate procedures for the maintenance of pens and cattle accommodations to maintain health and safety of cattle
Monitor and evaluate procedures for providing high quality feed and water
Monitor inventory of feed ingredients, shop supplies, medical supplies and other supplies.
Direct and monitor the management, use and maintenance of facilities, infrastructure, equipment and supplies
