Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Community Services handles the day to day management of programs and services within the Community Services Unit, including the supervision of its employees. Specifically, the position focuses on directing and supporting the planning, negotiations, proposals writing and implementation of programs within the unit.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will be an innovative professional with a thorough knowledge of First Nations health related programs and services. The essential skills, knowledge and abilities required include the following:
Have both a Masters and Bachelors degree in a health related field with a minimum of 8 years management experience  
Experience in northern health systems, community services and the development of community programs such as, Nursing, Mental Health and Addictions and Emergency Response  
Experience in the ability to create and implement strategic planning documents, as well as, providing support and leadership direction to staff to ensure the implementation of the strategic plan and adherence to policies and procedures  
Experience in the preparation and monitoring of program budgets  
Developing and implementing both program and performance evaluations  
Demonstrated experience in proposal writing  Ability to research, analyze and interpret community health information  
Strong leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills  
Proficient in both oral and written communication Must have strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office  
Experience working in a First Nations organization and/or ability to speak a First Nations language is an asset.  
Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required.
