Valley Action is a Community Organization in Rosthern that provides residential supports for adults with Intellectual disabilities
We are seeking a warm, motivated and organized individual for the role of Manager in one of our three homes.
This is an out-of-scope,salaried management position
Key Responsibilities:
- The primary role is to ensure a friendly homelike setting that meets the needs of the home residents.
Other roles include:
-Supervision of Direct Care workers for scheduling, training, hiring, discipline, and evaluations.
-Management of the home including overseeing the group home budget, shopping, helping to determine and meet resident needs, care for the home and its grounds, the provision of timely information to the Executive Director and ensuring a safe, clean environment for residents, co-workers, volunteers, and guests
-Assist Valley Action Abilities Program Coordinator on programming issues
-Maintain a commitment to progressive professional development
-Participate in on-call supervision
-Participate fully in fund raising and other activities prioritized by VAA Management/Board
-Other related administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, teaching/coaching skills, and relational skills with participants and their families, program workers, peers, and external resource providers
-Demonstrate qualities of trust, respect, and empathy
-Possess a good working knowledge of computer word processing
-Completion of minimum Grade Twelve
-A Nursing, Home Care or Rehabilitation Worker Certificate or diploma, or related post-secondary education
-Previous management experience
-1-2 years experience in a related field is desirable
-Level 1, and 2 Community Living Division (CLD) training is desirable
-Stride/Basic Skills Training (BST) is desirable
-PART Training is desirable
-Possess a valid Saskatchewan driver's license
