Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Specialist is accountable to provide subject matter expertise and administration of a specialized function. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with the design and support of Cisco enterprise network solutions including switch (i.e. Nexus line), router security, network management and wireless technologies.  Experience with security certificates (PKI) and a good understanding of VOIP and unified communications.  

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related equivalent AND/OR;
Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
5 years of related IT network experience
Knowledge and experience in the following is considered an asset:
o IDS/IPS, MalWare Detection
o Remote access technologies (VPN, Netmotion, Anyconnect)
o Cisco Wireless (controllers/wireless access points) and WiFi technology
o Administration of Load Balancers (Citrix Netscalers)
o Cisco ASA firewalls
o QoS and Multicast protocols
o Routing protocols
Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
Excellent facilitation, project management and decision making skills
Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
Demonstrated skill in SaskPowers competencies
Must have a continuing record of professional development
