Intermediate Mine Geologist
Cigar Lake, SK

Position and Responsibilities

Cameco is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our geology team at the worlds second largest high grade uranium deposit, located at the Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, your responsibilities will include diamond drill core logging, oversight for underground tunneling, underground mapping of development headings, computerized data management, data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and radiometric probing.

Education and Qualifications

Requirements of the position:
    Bachelors degree in geology or geological engineering
    Minimum of two years of relevant geological experience
    Experience working in a mine geology work environment
    Experience working in an underground work environment
    Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
    Ability and willingness to perform manual labour, including heavy lifting, as required for this position
    Valid class 5 drivers licence
    Safety-oriented work attitude
    Work a rotational schedule, including night shift, and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
    Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)

Safety is a top priority at Cameco. Successful candidates for all positions at safety-sensitive sites or in safety-sensitive positions must take and pass a substance test (which includes marijuana testing) as a condition of employment. Marijuana remains in a users system for about 30 days, so applicants who recently used marijuana recreationally should not expect to pass a substance test.
