Reporting to the Executive Director of a national agricultural non-profit association, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide general reception support, receive visitors/clients, respond to telephone enquiries and take messages in a professional manner.
- Manage the daily office operations. Provide administrative support to the Canadian membership, Executive Director, Board of Directors and Committees.
- Provide word processing, prepare correspondence, excel spreadsheets, reports and presentations. Organize, edit and file documents.
- Maintain an accurate, up to date national database.
- Plan, schedule and attend meetings; record minutes of Board and Committee meetings.
- Support the preparation of government program/grant applications, and subsequent program reporting requirements.
Marketing and Member Services
- Coordinate magazine publication distributed three times yearly.
- Manage special projects and programs; coordinate participation in annual trade shows.
- Support and/or manage social media and website communications.
- Provide marketing support and process memberships, member renewals.
- Assist with event planning, annual conventions, sales, etc.
General Accounting:
- Provide general accounting support, using Quickbooks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Process accounts payable/receivable, membership fees, bank reconciliations and government remittances. Support budgeting and reporting activities.
Ideal experience:
- 3-5 years related experience working with not-for-profit Boards and/or the not-for-profit industry
- A background or experience in the agricultural industry is preferred.
- An understanding of financial concepts including knowledge of QuickBooks, and financial reporting
- A strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and Outlook is required.
