Reporting to the Director of Client Services, this position works as part of an interdisciplinary primary health care team to provide health care services to women through the life span within the Womens Health Centre at the All Nations Healing Hospital in Fort QuAppelle. This position will also provide outreach services to the communities of the File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with physicians and midwives, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is desired.
Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program is required.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse in primary care, public health or acute care.
Previous experience working within a community setting with Aboriginal clients would be an asset.
