Description

The Brandt Group of Companies has a tremendous opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual looking for a career with a growing company.  Brandt is seeking a Divisional Controller for its Brandt Tractor division in Regina.

Brandt Tractor is the worlds largest privately held John Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment Dealer, and is a member of Canadas 50 Best Managed Companies.

The Divisional Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the division including:
Monitoring and strengthening internal controls
Managing the monthly and annual financial reporting and budgeting processes
Manage the accounting functions including review of journal entries, establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results
Maintain the accounting system and implement changes as required
Planning and supervision of the external audit process
Preparation of corporate tax returns and
Overall responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of financial information.  

In addition, the Divisional Controller will assist with formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls, as well as provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience, and have a professional accounting designation.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Previous industry or John Deere dealership experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems would be considered as asset.
