Civil Engineer,
NATURE OF WORK:
This position performs professional engineering duties. This position is responsible for applying technical knowledge in architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical, industrial and institutional to obtain building permits, perform steel building construction, designing and stamping foundation drawing, building of storage/residential housing buildings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Must be a Professional engineer Licensed in Saskatchewan and in good standing with APEGS.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of infrastructure engineering.
Knowledge of the general rules and regulations of the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act as they apply to this position and the ability to develop and ensure adherence to safety procedures within the Section.
Demonstrated skill in project management, conducting presentations, communicating and selling ideas and in leading group discussion.
Intermediate skill in MSWord, Excel and Access and the ability to develop expertise in the use of specialized software for modelling and design of storage/residential housing buildings, building permits, designing and stamping foundation drawings and steel building construction.
Education and Experience:
A University degree in Civil, typically combined with a minimum of four (4) years engineering experience in a related field. Experience in the field of infrastructure related to designing and stamping foundation drawing, steel building construction, obtaining approval for building permit and building of storage/residential housing buildings is preferred.
PMP designation is a plus but not required
WORKING/OTHER CONDITIONS:
Must be registered or eligible for registration with APEGS as a professional engineer and able to obtain a certification of authorization in the Province of Saskatchewan
Must possess a valid Class Five (5) drivers license and have a vehicle available.
