Prince Albert Tourism is a non-profit organization that operates as Prince Alberts destination marketing and management organization. The Director of Marketing and Development reports to a Board of Directors and is responsible for overseeing and performing various marketing duties in addition to managing the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and writing content for the Discover PA Guide, blog, website and social media as required
Lead and assist with projects including the Convention and Event Planning Guide
Support events and activities that bring people to Prince Albert
Special project development and idea generation
Monitoring the tourism industry to identify current and emerging issues and new developments that impact the tourism and hospitality industry
Developing strategic business plans, annual strategic sales/marketing plans and operation budgets
Build exceptional working relations with strategic industry partners
Obtain sponsorship or new revenue streams
Oversee daily operations of Prince Albert Tourism
Develop and maintain information systems and financial controls
Ensure accurate reporting of the financial position and potential risks to the board
EDUCATION
Post-secondary education preferably with a Business or Marketing focus.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Working with a board of directors, leading sales & marketing initiatives, strong written & verbal communications, project management, administration skills, ability to interpret financials & prepare budgets and building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners. Experience in a Tourism related industry is an asset.
TERM
Full time term position, up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
