Description

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority is seeking a permanent out of scope Store Manager for our Regina (Normanview) liquor store.  

Reporting to the Regional Director, Liquor Store Managers actively participate as an integral part of the SLGA management team and carry out SLGA initiatives in the liquor stores. They are responsible for managing the activities associated with the effective operation of a liquor store including developing manpower forecasts, understanding the local business climate, proactively responding to changing sales trends and operational needs, and providing excellent service to a variety of customers such as commercial permittees, franchises and the general public.

Liquor Store Managers establish store objectives, prepare and monitor a store operating budget on an annual basis, and maintain proper controls. They manage and supervise store employees including hiring, evaluating, coaching, providing feedback, documenting employee work performance and taking required action, for example, employee discipline. Liquor Store Managers are responsible for managing product inventory, cash accounting and cash register operations, and preparing related records. They market, merchandise and retail beverage alcohol products as well as interact and maintain effective relationships with beverage alcohol industry representatives and stakeholders. They guard against losses and ensure a healthy and safe work environment. They also ensure that store maintenance requirements are met and all legal and corporate policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
