Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to assist in executing the YMCAs Asset Building and Steps 4 Success Program and Mentoring in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan (additional program information is available upon request). These programs are offered in school settings, as well as at an off-site program site. This position will provide specialized attention to those referred to these YMCA programs and will assist in executing a Youth Mentorship Program one evening a week.
Responsibilities:
This position will work 15 hours/ week, a mixture of daytime and evening hours
- Helping to implement programming in a school and classroom setting
- Assist in creating and facilitating interactive workshops
- Building relationships and providing mentorship to young people referred to YMCA Programs
- Additional special projects or cross- departmental initiatives as needed
Requirements:
- Ability to build relationships and work with youth is an asset, especially those with challenging behaviours
- Must obtain an original criminal record check dated within 3 months of hire
