Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services Inc. is seeking Integrated Family Service Worker based out of the YTCCFS Inc. Central Office in Yorkton SK. The Integrated Family Service Worker; Under the supervision of the Area Program Manager; will provide a holistic approach to the wellness of the child, the family, and the community, that is based on the culture, traditions and practices involving Elders and Prevention Committees along the continuum of care for children, and, to assess and plan for cultural and professional interventions with families. The Integrated Family Service Worker will work with Elders and Prevention Committees and the First Nations Community based programs/services and the YTCCFS Inc. programs. The Integrated Family Service Worker will provide early intervention for at risk families and ensure children are safe by providing access to a range of developmental services for children and families. Qualifications: Knowledge and commitment to the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act, the Child and Family Services Act of Saskatchewan, INAC Child and Family Services, and the INAC Saskatchewan Region Child in Care Policy.
Knowledge of Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota and Dakota culture and language as well as the political and social objectives of the member First Nations.
A Bachelor of Indian Social Work or a Bachelor of Social Work or a Bachelor level degree in a directly related field. Ability to utilize computer software and hardware programs.
Ability to apply and utilize case management tools and methodologies. Ability to make decisions using sound judgment in difficult or ambiguous situations. Ability to maintain accurate and current information and documentation relating to case files. Ability to investigate, assess, identify risks and develop an action plan to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Ability to monitor compliance of the objectives of case plans with clients and families.
