Description

The Ministry of Central Services, Property Management Branch, South region, is seeking an individual to join their service team to provide a variety of maintenance duties in government facilities within Estevan, Saskatchewan.

As a member of a service-oriented team, you will draw upon proven maintenance experience and possess mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs and maintenance such as unplugging toilets and drains, replacing valves/taps/washers, hanging shelves, and dismantling and reassembling walls to meet client requests. You will also perform checks to HVAC equipment (i.e. boiler checks, maintain logs, and life safety equipment) ensuring safe operating standards are maintained and met.

You must be in good physical condition in order to perform a variety of manual activities. The successful candidate will be required to operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects.

The successful candidate must possess a valid Fireman's Certificate or be willing to achieve the certificate within six (6) months of employment. The successful candidate must also have a valid driver's licence.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge of building operations, repairs, and maintenance as well as working knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and practices of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will also have the ability to perform minor building repairs/maintenance and to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair problems or equipment to restore operation.
