The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), Regina Area invites applications for the position of family physician in a rural family medicine practice in the town of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. This physician will work within a multi-disciplinary team in providing primary health care services to the community of Indian Head and will work collaboratively with other physicians in the communities of Wolseley, Grenfell and Broadview to support the acute care and emergency services for the area. This practice offers a full range of services, which would include admitting privileges and access to the health regions resources such as home care, laboratory services, radiology services, etc. Acute care referral services are available in the city of Regina which is approximately 40 minutes away.
The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
The candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)). Successful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan. Applicants will also hold ACLS certification.
In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Family Medicine in the Regina Area.
The start date for this position is negotiable. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
