HJR Asphalt LP is currently seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical & electrical problems as well as have the ability to repair and adjust mechanical components.  The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team of workers, delegate appropriately, and supervise progress.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Work on a variety of road construction equipment including pavers, rollers, skid-steers, wheel loaders and semi trucks/trailers
-Troubleshoot and problem solve
-Comfortable working on hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic equipment
-Source and order parts
-Assist in organizing and delegating maintenance projects and shop workers
-Travel around the province to job sites in the summer when needed
-Overtime is a requirement during the summer
-Report to the Operations Support Manager

Qualifications:
-Must possess a Journeymen Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket
-Have 3 years experience working directly on heavy equipment
-Experience working with asphalt equipment
-Possess excellent communication and leadership skills
-Knowledge and ability to use a computer and read schematics
-Possess a valid class 5 drivers license (class 1A would be an asset)
