The ideal candidate will have a background in driving delivery vehicles. Having experience in or knowledge of the glass or woodworking industry would be considered an asset, but not a requirement.
The following characteristics would be required: Driving a flat deck truck with a hydraulic arm for lifting crates of glass, operating the hydraulic arm, some driving of 10 tonne curtain delivery trucks, forklift experience an asset.
You should be willing to take on a variety of duties as it relates to the efficient functioning of the branch. This includes loading the trucks, lifting and carrying some glass up to 300 lbs with a partner, unloading crates and other various warehouse duties.
Hours would consist mainly of Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. There is, however, overtime involved earlier and later as well as overnight trips at times. Some of the overtime required is to help load delivery trucks, usually in evenings, and some hours during the weekend. An average 2 week period of overtime would be approximately 15-20 hours during the busier glass season, and less during the slow times in winter weather.
