The Investment Analyst is accountable for supporting day-to-day operational functions of the investment team including oversight of external investment managers, monitoring compliance of investments, researching investment strategies and compiling reports. Directly reporting to the Director of Public Investments, the Investment Analyst also supports the Director of Investment Strategy and Risk and the Chief Investment Officer as required.

Qualified candidates possess a post-secondary degree in finance, business administration, economics, commerce, actuarial science or related field supplemented by two or more years of experience in a relevant role. A combination of equivalent education, training and experience will be considered. To succeed in this position, you have or are working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and have thorough knowledge of technical theory related to financial management, capital markets, securities analysis and portfolio management. Basic knowledge of defined benefit plan provisions and funding principles and relevant pension legislation and regulation is an asset.

You have strong research, analytical and writing skills and work effectively with others. You exercise good judgement, identify problems and resolutions with the ability to escalate issues appropriately. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You have knowledge of accounting principles and practices and are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
