Description

Bourgault Industries is looking for a Junior Firmware Engineer to join our autonomous development team based in Saskatoon, SK. The successful candidate would help architect and build software for embedded devices, with a focus on designing new concept seeding equipment that will add value for our customers.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the embedded systems team to produce high quality firmware.
- Design, develop, test, and debug software components used on various agricultural products.
- Driver and firmware development for various electrical control and communication interfaces
- Evaluate and implement sensing technology, algorithms, and actuators
- Assisting with concept development
- Verification and validation for custom electronic platform designs
- Testing of sensing technology, algorithms, and actuators
- Assist with prototype assembly and testing
- Communicate with other teams for new product integration.
- Occasional travel to main production facility in St. Brieux and other various test locations.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering/CS or related field, with a passion for embedded systems
- Strong firmware development skills
- Familiar with hydraulic control, electric motor control and displays
- Familiar with common embedded components/protocols
- Ability to independently develop software development plans
- Understanding of Software architecture and life cycle
- Comprehension of electronic hardware designs
- Capable of using diagnostic tools such as Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, JTAG, protocol sniffers
- Strong organizational skills and can work independently or within a team
- Ability to think critically and analytically
