Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Payroll, the Compensation Staffing Analyst is part of a team accountable for timely and accurate payroll and employee benefits processing from the Swift Current Payroll Office.  The Analyst is responsible for the  coordination of accurately processed bi-weekly payroll by utilizing acquired knowledge of collective agreements as well as Federal, Provincial and SHA policy requirements; Accumulate all payroll data accurately in order to complete required month end, year-end, and Government statistical reports; Informs employees with respect to payroll changes, Government requirements and, on request, provides information regarding salary status, holidays, sick leave, etc.; Administers benefits by completing documents and reports, communicating benefits information to employees, monitoring and ensuring benefit eligibility/enrollment and maintaining pertinent data relating to employee benefits; keeping up-to-date with new developments in all areas of payroll & benefits, including Federal and Provincial legislation, collective agreements and policy changes.
Required Qualifications

Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the CPA or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience
Minimum one (1) year previous experience performing payroll and accounting functions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Computer skills in such programs as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Ability to acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all Employee Benefits plan provisions and operating procedures, and become a knowledgeable and productive user of various member databases
Knowledge of Collective Bargai
