In collaboration with the health team and under the direction of the Primary Health Care Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health services within the Rural Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community, both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes: health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counseling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; initiating and conducting community needs assessment and participating in evaluative projects and collaboration with and referred to other health care professionals as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is desired. Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program is required. We require current registration with the SRNA and current BCLS certification.
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience as a Registered Nurse in primary care, public health or acute care. Minimum of one year experience in community needs assessment, community development and health promotion. Previous experience working within a community setting.
