Facility: Royal University Hospital
Job Description: As a member of the Mental Health and Addiction Services, the incumbent is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team in Pediatrics Emergency Services. The incumbent represents Mental Health and Addiction Services to the public and to agencies by providing information, intake assessment, crisis response services, referral, consultation, research and education. Responsibilities include direct patient care, use of assessment tools, screening, crisis intervention, referral, short term case management, counseling, goal planning and consultation in the Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Applied Suicide Intervention Training an asset
Knowledge of systems theory an asset
Experience
Minimum of 1 year full-time experience working with individuals suffering from mental health and addiction related issues. Experience in working with suicide intervention strategies required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources and referral procedures
Current knowledge of human growth and development, human behaviour, psychopathology, the family life cycle and systems theory
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of professionals, and members of the public
Knowledge of mental health and mental illness across the life cycle
Understanding of health promotion and health prevention initiatives in mental health
Current knowledge of mental health and mental illness issues in a variety of settings (i.e. acute and community)
